Tell me, to the initiated: if it was a loon with a knife, instead of a loon with a gun, with everything else in this loons violent fantasies and executive plans, would it have been better with a knife?

This has considerably more to do about the loon aspect than the means of loonery. As said early on elsewhere in this thread, the guns are incidental to the crazypants. Doesn't help, sure, but still incidental.

I should point out that, just to name two (technically three) examples, the Columbine Killers and Elliot Rodger had plans far more grandiose than they could have possibly pulled off (the former planned on the centerpiece of their massacre to be at the very least a huge bombing whose body could would dwarf the Oklahoma City bombing four years earlier with them shooting any fleeing survivors; and the latter’s plans involved a familicide, setting up a torture chamber in his college dorm, massacring a sorority house filled with the blondes he was attracted to, and a massive drive-by shooting/vehicle ramming campaign.) Doesn’t mean they weren’t still extremely dangerous. Or would you still be defending them tooth and nail if they got caught before they had the chance to pull their massacres off?

As far as I see it - this maggot did nothing illegal with guns. (At least according to the reporting)

He had an AR15. Legal (unless there is something the reporting doesn't cover) He had ammo. Legal (same caveat). He had Tannerite. Also legal - in fact even felons can own and possess it.
