Oh for fucks sake, if you eat any kind of meat, cow, pig, anything, shut up.
The pet gets put under, they do not feel a thing while under. After they come out, they feel discomfort for a brief time. But that is the same for humans.
My current cat is 13 and happy as hell. He has no memory of being declawed, and he is happy as hell.

It’s got nothing to do with eating meat and everything to do with the welfare of the cat. Declawing (I’m getting to hate that term) is done for the benefit of people, it offers no benefits - and has been shown to be detrimental - to cats.
Anyone who would declaw a cat or even approve of declawing a cat isn’t fit to have a cat.

What loaded terms? ‘Mutilation’ isn’t loaded, it’s accurately descriptive of the procedure.

Declawing is so wrong.
My cat is 13 years old, he is happy as hell. I also keep him inside too.
I understand, and this is not an attack on you. I understand what it's like to have a happy cat, and I have no doubt that yours is happy as hell. I love cats so very much, and I have no doubt you love yours.
I let my cats outside when they want to go out, and am often judged for that. They're happy as hell, too.
That being said, I will continue to put considerable effort into anti-declawing legislation and measures. I am in the veterinary medicine field and it's a growing sentiment among my peers.

Of course it isn’t. Elective removal of a body part that does not benefit the health or comfort of a patient is mutilation. Cutting off part of your cat’s toes because you don’t want your furniture scratched certainly qualifies.

It’s actually illegal here (and lots of other places). Can get you a year in prison and heavy fines.

My dad was a veterinarian. He simply did not like cats at all. But he was also against declawing them, way before being against it was the norm.
Our vets don't do it. Period, end of discussion.

It's not loaded because it would be loaded if it was loaded, which it is. Got it.

It’s not loaded because it’s intended to be correctly descriptive, not emotive. So you don’t ‘got it’.
