What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Being amazed that an American president has managed to go five consecutive days without becoming a national embarrassment.

Reading about whiskey. I'm primarily a bourbon and rye drinker, but I'd like to learn more about Scotch and Japanese whiskeys.

It's amazing how quickly we got used to the loofa-faced shit gibbon.

They have the likes of Boebert, Cruz, Gaetz, Lindsay, and others to carry on that trend.

They're screaming "unity" and that prosecuting Trump or others will further divide the country.

One fucking idiot is even trying to impeach Biden.

And, apparently, Biden having a Rolex is an issue...

...but not Trump spending over $100 million in taxpayer money to play golf.

Scotch is great but pricey! I'm a huge fan of Islay region; Ardbeg or Laphroaig are great with a really smoky peaty flavor. All scotch is made from malt smoked with peat, but the Islay region is very deeply flavored relative to Highland or Speyside which are the other regions I'm more familiar with.

A good easy way, starting with Scotch, would be Johnny Walker Black; not too expensive and you get a little taste of that smoky peat.

I've got an inexpensive Islay, and the peaty, smoky flavor is not my favorite thing. I've got my eye on a bottle of Johnny Walker green label, but that will take a little saving up, as I give myself $4 a day for each day that I do housework to spend on alcohol. I've got $24 in the kitty after buying a bottle of salted caramel whiskey. The Johnny Walker green is about $55, but I'm thinking a bottle of Wild Turkey rare breed bourbon or Chivas Regal 12 next. A bottle of Glenlivet 12 or Glenmorangie are also in the running.

Yeah, when the Republicans have spent the last four to five years suckling at the teat of Donald Trump, a man who, even before he decided to run for the Presidency on the most blatantly racist platform since George Wallace, was the personification of literally everything bad about the rich and powerful, they have ZERO ground criticizing Joe Biden for having and wearing any sort of Veblen good.

If you can ever splurge to get the JW Blue I would say go for it! It is super smooth with a nice flavor. Both me and Ms. Rhizo found it to be lovely and she does not like Islay scotch at all!

Something I just discovered that is much cheaper is Screwball. It is a peanut butter whiskey and it is super tasty! I've had it with Raspberry Amaretto and it it like drinking a PB&J.

Reading more about whiskey, watching the game, and having a dram of Balcones Baby Blue corn whiskey.

I don't find the Glenlivet smoky at all -- which is a big plus for me, because I don't tolerate Scotch with heavy smoke.  A particularly nice Scotch is Balvenie DoubleWood, but it's not cheap.  Aberlour is another good one.
