I take everyone here seriously. My particular denomination has many similarities with Islam that the rest of Christianity does not. For example, the consumption of alcohol and pork to name a few. I think it's immature to dismiss people like that.

In fairness, that's not what religion is, it's just how inarticulate people describe their religious beliefs in a doomed attempt to broaden the circle of unity.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I don't care what you think.
And you, who edits quotes, doesn't get to speak of the immaturity of dismissing people.
I don't take you seriously either. You are a joke...just not a funny one.

Right; we already established that about you. (Edit: with peace and love of course lol.)

I think many Christians would agree with that; but I personally don't. I think the moral foundations of Christianity are constant, like you mentioned, but that their application is not, and can/does progress.
As an analogy, we can say that in the past century America has progressed in terms of civil rights (blacks, women, etc). But that the moral foundation of "justice" has not. We've simply realized more things can be fit under the same umbrellas, and other things don't belong.

Well put. I was thinking about that recently too, how obedience and faith seem to be much more important than independence and choice in some repressive religions.

You're attributing to religion what humans create naturally. Helicopter parenting is on the rise (where independence and choice are repressed). Liberals in America are creating systems in which pre-approved ideas are sacred and disagreement is blasphemous. This is psychology and sociology, not theology.

That's the nature of a religious belief. Religious beliefs are morally uniting truths a community not only asserts, but would also actively seek to make true. Compliance seeking is an expression of their commitment to a religious idea - which is far more complicated and effective than any nebulous belief in some silly god.

I mean you're the helicopter mom of the forum let's be honest lol. I can hardly speak to someone without you interrupting. And when you do the other person often just kudos your word salad and I never hear from them again.

You probably think that because you don't pay attention, like so much else in thread. Am I supposed to read this any other way than you whining about someone making it harder or less fun for you to bullshit people?
