In the 70s there was " Grovey"
In the 80s, it was "Rad"
In the 90s it was, "Talk to the hand"
What do you hear today from those in their teens and 20s that you know will be looked back on in 20 years as old hat?

The two I have heard the most out of granddaughter who is 15 are "lit" and "shook".
Her group of friends (five or six girls) are referred to as "The Squad".

I try not to have interactions with anyone under 40.

"Lit" really isn't that new, maybe not as popular back then, but I do remember being drunk or high in my teens and 20s referring to myself or observing others as "lit".
"Shook" certainly is new to me however.

I edited my prior post mistaking it for a new post. My prior post in the edited version was actually meant as a response to this post.
Their "lit" isn't about being high or drunk but more about being something being cool or amazing. That's why I included it, should have explained that. Old word...new meaning.

A lot of young people today are worried about pollution, so they usually say
"Talk to the nylon bag on my face," or
"Talk to the plastic particles in my amniotic fluid."
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

*Pretends to be under forty*
Professionally, most of my interractions are with people over 50.
But rarely over 65-70.
