The reason religion is so powerful
RE: The reason religion is so powerful
Assume it's a person, assume it's a killing. We gonna lock her up on manslaughter charges or create a lesser crime of killing just for this purpose?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

No, because it's a parasite. (Not directed at Nudger)

Quote:Okay, and do you understand why the placenta needs to hide from the mother's immune system? Because, contrary to many pro-choice arguments (and I understand not everyone goes this far), this is not the woman's body. The embryo is a separate organism, with a separate genome, and a separate blood supply.
It's inside the women's body period. Its possession of a distinct genome and a blood supply is irrelevant.

Quote:Parasitism is a symbiotic relationship between species, where one organism, the parasite, lives on or inside another organism, the host, causing it some harm, and is adapted structurally to this way of life."
Parasitism is one life form feeding off another same species or not, And no it doesn't require the parasite to harm the host and it could be argued the embryo causes harm. Lastly, the embryo is adapted to feed off the mother.

So again nice try  Smile

I'll leave the legal debates to someone else. However, in the infamous Scott Peterson trial several years ago, Scott was convicted of two murder charges: His wife Laci, and unborn child Connor.

I am curious if pro-choice advocates think that second ruling should be overturned?

It most certainly does. There are other symbiotic terms reserved for when the relationship isn't harmful, or even beneficial: Commensalistic and Mutualistic.

"Microorganisms that live within or on plants and animals can be grouped according to how they affect their hosts. Parasites are microorganisms that benefit at some expense to the host, pathogens actually cause a disease in the host, commensals have no discernible effect on the host, and mutualists are beneficial to the host" (Brock's Biology of Microorganisms, 14th edition).

Let me guess—irrelevant lol.

Again wrong. Parasites can benefit the host without cost or at the very least can be neutral. So again fail.

But please keep trying  Hilarious

I think you should read about acardiac/trap twin, and take note of the effect on the pump twin. Then come back and talk to us about the trap twins inherent value.
