You dumbasses think you can legislate a market.
Ask the Soviets.... See how well that works out.
Oh - wait... No Soviets anymore....
Tihe Russians are still paying for the stupidity you want to jump headlong into....
What do you see as the central failure of the CCCP economic model? Lemme guess...

Does it bother you at all that your labour market is being regulated by people who want to be paid more?

So I take it you're not going to answer her question? The one that asks you to explain why you think actually expecting companies to pay their workers something above starvation wages is like the Soviet planned economy?
Or do you legit believe the Soviet economy didn't work because Moscow demanded that bosses actually pay their workers something resembling a decent wage?

So, I take it you don't actually know what you're talking about when you liken paying people $15/hour to the Soviet planned economy.

Can you answer the question or not? I challenge you to prove them wrong about you by answering the question. Or, you can continue acting like a buffoon.

This isn't going to be popular but here goes...
Large businesses should be willing and able to pay their employees a living wage. What happens when/if the $15.00 minimum wage becomes law is that it pushes out the small mom and pop businesses. When you raise wages you also raise the amount of taxes that have to be paid by the employer as well as increasing worker's comp as it's based on the dollar amount of your payroll. Those small local businesses could be lost if they are held to the same standard as the big companies.
There are often benefits to working for a small company. More flexibility. You are more than an employee number and often have the opportunity to learn various aspects of the business and not just your one certain task.
I am all for the companies who can paying their people more and/or providing better benefits such as insurance and paid time off but not at the cost of squeezing the mom and pop shops out.
This really isn't an all or nothing decision. A sliding scale would make more sense.

What small businesses? Pretty sure they went extinct in the last round of free market totes cool expansion. Or, if they didn't, then how many times are we going to have to hear them cry wolf while stubbornly refusing to cease to exist? IIRC, the point of our capitalist system is to allow for the free movement of capital, not the hording of wealth or even the preservation of wealth in the small business castes.

Downtown where I live is lined with mom and pop stores. Not sure where you are but they do still exist.
