You should look things up before you embarrass yourself further.
Quote:The study, published in CDC’s , shows that from 2010 to 2017, the age-adjusted HIV-related death rate (the number of HIV-related deaths per 1,000 people with HIV) fell from 9.1 to 4.7, a decline of 48%. In 2017, 16,358 people with HIV died, and 5,534 of those deaths were from HIV-related causes.
4.7 out of 1000 gives a mortality rate of 0.47%.

How could it not be true that, if you get a disease that shuts down your immune system, you are likely to die as a consequence of it? It is also why people who get organ transplants, and need to take immuno-repressive drugs, do not tend to live much longer. I mean, saying HIV is not particularly dangerous is quite literally saying not only that vaccinations do not help us significantly, but that natural immunity against various diseases also does not help us significantly.
People don't really die from HIV anymore, because proper diet and self care can prevent the onset of AIDS which leads to the real killing.

Simply because you don’t understand a fact, it doesn’t cease to be true on the basis of your not understanding it. These are the survival rates for various organ transplants: Heart: 11-15 years Lung: 5-20 years Liver: 5-20 years Kidney: 30-40 years Which organ transplants were you thinking of where ‘people do not tend to live much longer’? What is the difference between HIV and AIDS? What do you mean by "proper diet"? As far as I know, diet has little or no effect on the immune system. Lysine deficiency (in the poor people whose main source of protein is wheat bread) is thought to weaken the immune system, but, as far as I know, the evidence even for that is thin. Do you ever get tired of being wrong? https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionso...-immunity/ Quote:Eating enough nutrients as part of a varied diet is required for the health and function of all cells, including immune cells. Certain may better prepare the body for microbial attacks and excess inflammation, but it is unlikely that individual foods offer special protection. Each stage of the body’s immune response relies on the presence of many micronutrients. Examples of nutrients that have been identified as critical for the growth and function of immune cells include vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, selenium, iron, and protein (including the amino acid glutamine). [3,4] They are found in a variety of plant and animal foods. AIDS is the condition caused by HIV. Simply because someone is HIV positive doesn’t necessarily mean they will develop AIDS. Boru

BrianSoddingBoru4 Wrote:vitamin CI thought this Vitamin C boosting your immune system is widely considered a myth these days. BrianSoddingBoru4 Wrote:vitamin DAs far as I can tell, it is a bit controversial whether Vitamin D helps boost your immune system. That is, it is at least very controversial (I do not know whether it should be) to say Vitamin D protects against COVID-19 and that that is partly why COVID-19 cases and deaths are very low in summer compared to winter. BrianSoddingBoru4 Wrote:zincNever heard of zinc supposedly boosting your immune system. BrianSoddingBoru4 Wrote:seleniumAgain, never heard of selenium boosting your immune system. BrianSoddingBoru4 Wrote:ironAgain, never heard. BrianSoddingBoru4 Wrote:glutamineNever heard of the idea that glutamine boosts your immune system. I have only heard of the controversial claim that lysine boosts your immune system. You HAVE heard of those things. I’ve just provided a link. The other is a matter of inaccurate popular language. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2. There isn’t actually a virus called COVID-19. Boru

About 15,000 people in the US die from HIV every year. 1.5 million people die every year from HIV worldwide. It is still very much a serious problem. Not everyone has access to healthcare.
