Honestly, in the case of CRT, the “secrets” are pretty easy to find. Perhaps it’s like Sir Humphrey Appleby said (and I’m paraphrasing here, though the exact words can be found in Series 2, Episode 1 of Yes, Minister), “the public was willing to allow these abuses to go on for years. What outraged them was being told.”

I think you might be missing my point. It's not about blatant mistreatment, it's about the powerful protecting those in power who think it is ok to blatantly mistreat anyone deemed a lesser form of society.
They will oppose any motion which seeks to shine light in that dark abysmal place.

Rev Rye posted a video that suggested that conservatives have a hierarchical view of society--that certain classes are where they are because they belong there. CRT would certainly be a threat to such a view.

You can't let it heal over by pretending it didn't happen.
The people who pretend such nonsense are beyond reason.
All sane people realize what happened.
Obsessing about the past won' t change it.

I didn't learn the truth in school, so while relatively sane, I did not realize the entirety and gravity of our history. Did you? I mean, did you really? We had a whitewashed version.
Learning about the past isn't about changing it, it's about avoiding such atrocity again, and also recognizing its lingering and ugly effect on modern culture.

Why worry about what happened to blacks in the past when we should be worrying about stopping them from voting in 2022?

Does this make sense to you, Biker?
This is the real end goal of CRT: To not fucking repeat the shitty things of the past. It's not just about airing the dirty laundry of the past just for the Hell of it.
It's less picking at a scab and more looking at a wound, looking back at all the ways said wound has been created in the past, and trying to find the proper way to heal said wound so it doesn't fester like it is now.

So if people under 40 exist, your argument sucks. Way to cut your own balls off.

I am 58. Do you think systemic racism remains a problem?
What did MLK make very clear? Can you elaborate? The discussion is about teaching kids in school, and teaching them the true nature of such a huge part of our history.
