This thread has inspired me to attempt a coconut omelette. I will report back with the results (assuming my heart doesn’t explode).

What I do know is that there are quite a lot of studies associating egg consumption with heart disease, and that they usually blame the saturated fat in them for that.
Associations/correlations do not = causation.
And what studies? What were the study designs used? What methodologies were used? What type of statistical analysis was used? What were the sample sizes (n) for the studies? Were they observational only? Retrospective? Clinical trials? Did they control for confounding variables and non-modifiable risk factors like age, gender, and family history? Have you evaluated available metal-analyses on the subject? What is the scientific consensus on this subject? What are the major health organizations like the AHA and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ official positions on this subject based on the available data? Have you done any of this work?
I thought the scientific consensus that eggs cause heart disease dates way back to Nikolay Anichkov experiments with rabbits. It, as far as I know, predates the scientific consensus that saturated fat are harmful by 4 decades.

I'll remember not to feed eggs to rabbits - coconut either.

Well, Rocky ate eggs and he didn't die
Quote:Chicken eggs are an affordable source of protein and other nutrients. They're also naturally high in cholesterol. But the cholesterol in eggs doesn't seem to raise cholesterol levels the way some other foods, such as those high in trans fats and saturated fats, do.
Although some studies have found a link between eating eggs and heart disease, there could be other reasons for these findings. The foods people typically eat with eggs, such as bacon, sausage and ham, might do more to boost heart disease risk than eggs do. Plus, the way eggs and other foods are cooked — especially if fried in oil or butter — might play more of a role in the increased risk of heart disease than eggs themselves do.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Anichkov identified the mechanistic role that cholesterol plays in the development of atherosclerosis, as I understand. What does that have to do with eggs specifically? Also, you think the scientific consensus on the nutritive value of eggs hasn’t changed in four decades? Just…stop, lol.

Ok, here it is:
Boru’s Non-Lethal Coconut Omelette (serves 2)
4 eggs
2 tbsp coconut milk and 2 tbsp grated coconut
1/4 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
1/4 cup EACH chopped tomato, scallions, and oyster mushrooms
1/4 tsp rosemary, 1/4 tsp minced garlic, 1/4 tsp thyme, combined
Butter for frying
Whisk the eggs and coconut milk, stir in the grated coconut. Set aside.
Melt a goodly knob of butter in your omelette pan and sauté the veggies and herbs. Remove from pan and set aside.
Wipe the pan with a paper towel (don’t wash it), melt another knob of butter, then add the egg-coconut mixture over low medium heat.
As soon as the eggs start to set, add the veggies, then top with the grated cheese. Fold it however your Mum taught you.
Serve with buttered toast of your choice, and coffee/tea or fruit juice.
Completely fail to have a heart attack.

Boru No scallions, tomatoes or rosemary for me, but this looks absolutely delicious. I will never in my lifetime spend this sort of effort on something I would eat. I tip my hat to you, sir, for doing so.

Recipes are starting points - springboards, if you will - from which to launch your own creativity. For a lethal version, I would suggest substituting the chopped tomato with shards of glass that have been dipped in curare.
