Had trouble sleeping last night because of the throbbing foot, but that is what coffee is for. Cannot walk on the foot, which makes moving around at my age more difficult.

Discovered how to manage walking on my sore foot. Ibuprofen when I wake up and double socking.

Just waking up after a long evening/night at the hospital. Lexy accidentally bit my wife while playing tug in the yard the evening before, not bad, one single puncture on the back of her hand. We did all the cleaning that we normally do and went to bed. In the morning her hand had started to swell so she went to the MD, got prescribed Augmentin 875 (aka clav/amox). She had one dose in her (2PM) with no effect, the hand kept swelling. At 7pm went to the ER and they admitted her, x-ray -blood draw-pus culture. IV antibiotics started in the ER, didn't make it up to the floor room until 12AM. I came home, took care of the dogs (cleaned up an incontinent event from the old man) and finally got to bed at 2AM.
The plan was to give her a second round of antibiotics over night then wait and re-evaluate for sending her home or keeping her for additional monitoring and treatment.
We'll see if the beasts let me get some more sleep but it's doubtful, part of their herd is missing, they think I need to help searching.
Fuck me.

Playing a bit of catch up. I took yesterday off and need to get on track since it's payroll week.

That's rough. I hope things settle out for you all, soon.

Back from the horsepittal. Swelling and creeping cellulitis are decreasing. Sounds like they're going to keep her for another day.
