Hard to earn their loyalty when you treat them like this:
Quote:Objective studies show that dedovshchina is a product of non-statutory economic activity in the armed forces.[4] At the same time, dedovshchina is an auxiliary tool in the hands of the leadership, which can shift most of its responsibilities for maintaining order to the leaders of the informal hierarchy,[3] offering them some benefits in return (early dismissals, lenient attitude to guilt, reduced physical activity, etc.)
Often, informal relationships are accompanied by humiliation and physical violence (assault). The direct victims of the phenomenon are team members who, for one reason or another, have a low status in the informal hierarchy (status can be determined by seniority, physical, psychophysiological characteristics, nationality, etc.) The basis of the status is physical strength and the ability to insist on one's own way, as well as conflict resistance.
Manifestations of dedovshchina can be very different. In its milder forms, it does not involve threats to life and health or serious humiliation: recruits perform household chores for old men and, from time to time, their household tasks. In its extreme manifestation, dedovshchina reaches the point of group sadism. Manifestations of dedovshchina in the Russian army include forcing recruits to fully serve their "grandfathers" (for example, to wash their laundry), taking away money, clothes and food, subjecting them to systematic abuse and even torture, beating them severely, often causing serious bodily harm. Recently, extortion of money to credit a cell phone account has become very common. Recruits are forced to call home and ask their parents to top up their "grandfather's" account or buy a recharge card, which will then go to the same account. Conscript service in the Russian Armed Forces is often not very different from the procedures and relations between prisoners in penitentiaries ("zones").[5] Dedovshchina is the main reason for regular desertions of conscripts from units and suicides among them.

She was 23 and she was a student.
And there was this guy Vladislav Kanius. They used to be a couple.
In January 2020, he tortured her to death for like 12 hours because she had left him, and local police ignored calls from people next door who were hearing her scream.
In the end, neighbours broke into their apartment only to see the guy drinking vodka next to her dead body.
He inflicted over 100 wounds upon her.
He was sentenced to 17 years behind bars and a 4 million roubles ($44,000) compensation to be paid off to the late girl’s family and the court of justice.
And you know what?
The guy served only like 6 months.
Vladimir Putin pardoned him, just like so many other convicts, because he had agreed to go to war and kill even more people in Ukraine.
And he ended up being one of those who survived the meat grinder. He returned home clean before the law about a year after the murder.
Putin also relieved him of his obligation to pay off compensation to the family for the girls he slew.
One could only guess why the Ukrainians want to stay a fucking galaxy away from what today’s Russia is and from what the Putin regime has turned it into.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
In the Viking Era 800-1000 AD. The “Rus” are appearing as a mixed culture made of Viking / Varangian settlers and local populations Cossacks – Central Asian horse riding nomads. Kiev is established as one of the prosperous settlements. In fact the river systems of the region allowed Viking / Varangian traders to travel south toward Milkagard (Constantinople / Capital of the East-Roman Empire). They brought things like fur and ivory from northern lands in exchange for many luxury products from East-Roman and Saracen lands (precious stones, silks, spices, you name it).
It is also in this era that the “Rus” start to become divided into principalities. Ukrainians than appear as an ethnic group that are closer to Poland than they are to Muscovites (See video).
But Russian Tsars like Peter the Great or Catherine the Great have sought to assimilate them into their own culture as a part of their policy to have naval bases in southern seas that would allow them to take their share of colonialism. (See Video)
Quote:Russian General Who Lambasted Armed Forces Under Putin Suffers Mystery Death
A highly decorated Russian general has been found dead in his home alongside his wife with no clear cause of death.
Lieutenant General Vladimir Sviridov, 68—who was outspoken when he commanded the 6th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of Russia from 2005 to 2009—was found in the bedroom of his home in the Stavropol Krai on Wednesday, local authorities said. His wife, 72-year-old Tatyana, was found next to him, with the two of them lying side by side in bed, according to Kommersant.
Investigators said there were no signs of violence and the pair had apparently been dead already for about a week, having died at the same time. While carbon monoxide poisoning was initially viewed as a possible cause of death, no heightened levels of the gas were detected in the home, Kommersant reported, citing sources close to the investigation. Other conflicting reports said a power outage several days ago, combined with failed generators, had indeed led to a build-up of gas in the home.
