2024 US Presidential Election
RE: 2024 US Presidential Election
From now on, every time I hear some Reublican yokel bragging that they're "the party of Lincoln," I'm going to remind them that they're also the party of Nixon! And, Trump's way, way, wayyyyyy more Nixon than Lincoln!

I lol’d

Fresh out of prison, Peter Navarro just said at the RNC, if they will come after me and come after Trump then they can come after you as he points out at the corrupt Republican Party crowd.

Just can’t make this shot up!

Hehe Next up will be someone from the convention caught hooking up in the men's room.

I wonder how campaigning will change now that Biden has Covid. He says he's cancelling events for a few days.

He had a week of terrible press and then Trump completely took over the news.

I've already heard people saying this is the "medical event" which will give him an excuse to drop out -- but we'll see.

To be fair, they are the party of Lincoln. Just like Lincoln, they'd send blacks (and all other nonwhites) back to their homelands. Just like Lincoln, it would take a full-on war to cause them to back away from slavery (if it still existed, which it certainly would if they had their way). Just like Lincoln, they hold to their racism all the same even as circumstances force them to reluctantly bow to facts.

Comparing Trump to Nixon is an insult to Nixon. For one thing, Nixon was actually fairly intelligent and cultured, admittedly not a hard thing when you compare him with Trump.

And in terms of shit he actually got done, he was even actually comparatively liberal compared to the GOP of today. Could you imagine any of today’s Republicans doing shit like:

1) Founding the EPA.
2) Signing Title IX into law, doing more about women’s sports than any modern Republican complaining about how they’re being ruined because some teams are actually letting trans kids participate. Likely more than the entire modern Republican Party combined.
3) Actually broadening the potential voter base by supporting the 26th Amendment.

Don’t get me wrong, there was a lot of shit with the Nixon Administration, but it was still leagues beyond Trump.

Quote:Four prominent Democrats would perform significantly better than President Biden in key swing states if they replaced him as the party’s presumptive nominee, according to a memo from a Democratic-funded polling group.

The BlueLabs draft memo, first acquired by Politico, found that “nearly every tested Democrat performs better than the President” in the swing states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

The memo singled out four Democrats who bested Biden’s results by roughly 5 points overall across the battleground states: Sen. Mark Kelly (Ariz.), Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Vice President Harris also outperformed Biden in polling but by a smaller margin than the top four, according to the memo.

[...]

Polling also found that about 3 percent of Trump voters would back an alternative Democrat if Biden steps aside, and about 1 percent of Biden voters would switch to Trump if the president is no longer on the ticket.

Overall, the memo said Trump leads the presidential race “comfortably” as of now.

If there's a decision to be made, they better pull the trigger soon.
