RE: What's everyone up to right now?

I had pain and weakness in my right leg yesterday. At bedtime, the acute part of the pain was making it hard to sleep. I thought it might have been a blood clot, but I don't really know. So I took some ibuprofen to mute the pain and thin the blood. By morning the weakness was gone, but my leg was still sore. The soreness is gone now and I feel much better.

Glad you’re on the mend! Hope it doesn’t turn out to be anything serious.

Making bean soup. I normally use cubed ham, but I wanted to try with sausage instead, as cubing ham is laborious. I couldn't decide today, so I'm making double-meat bean soup.

That's terrible! I'm sorry for your loss. If someone dies from something like this, is organ donation possible, or even advisable?
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Thank you. Apparently, organ and tissue are possible. They let him go this afternoon. I'd like to say the hospital knows what they are doing but considering they released him from the ER to go home and die a few hours later...perhaps they finally circulated enough antibiotics through his tiny system to remove the infection.

The pain in my right leg returned today. Last night when I went to bed I discovered a series of rashes on the back of my right leg. I spent some time googling earlier without success. As I was resting in bed, a thought occurred to me, so I got up and looked into info on shingles. It fit my symptoms, and if they catch it within the first 72 hours, they can prescribe antiviral meds to reduce the length and severity of the illness. So I went to the ER and had them confirm my diagnosis and get me started on antiviral meds. I've heard a lot of scary stories about shingles, so I'm just hoping for the best. Not what I needed, but then it never is.

I hope the antiviral works well. Husband had them and he was miserable...he was much younger than they say you are likely to get them and I don't think antivirals were an option then.
The vaccine was horrible for me. The first dose was just icky but the second one kicked my ass. I can only hope that was worth it and I won't end up with them one day.

I haven't worked since September, I'm supposed to return to work on Friday. I just got a notification that my paycheck deposited today. Weird.
