Russia and Ukraine

China is licking its chops.

I just watched an interview Zelenskyy did with Fox News after the White House incident... though no idea why he would have chose to go with them, that's just asking for trouble... the interview seemed to me Hostile with a capital H, with an interviewer who didn't smile or seem to show an ounce of sympathy... and with so many leading questions. He really held his own... there were so many traps he could've fell into but didn't, so, much respect to him for that. Hopefully not even Fox can spin that into something it wasn't, even if they limit what they show.

At least the Poles and other Europeans will still back Ukraine.

Poland PM made some encouraging tweet after Zelensky meeting with trump but for now presidential candidates are in a race who will shit on Ukrainians more, so PM might decide to do the same to gain support in the polls. Supporting Ukraine is in Poland best interests but we aren't talking about rational country or even healthy democracy and Poland too have problems with fascists making googly eyes at putler and wishing us to stop helping Ukraine.

I hope that even clowns making Poland gov will have enough wit and decency to keep helping, but counting on polish politicians wit is always risky bet.

For the moment, Comrade Cat, they're doing better than American politicians. I imagine that proximity to the threat is fine-tuning their outlook.

Month ago PM and president were in a race who will fellate netanjahu quicker just because some clown in USA sent facile letter. Both of them were willing to break international agreement just to stop US from raising it's brew. If trump will promise that he will call PM a good boy tusk will at least consider dropping Ukraine as being patted on the head is greatest reward that polish politicians can imagine when it comes to USA.

From the outside Poland might look successful, strong or whatever else but it's more akin to asylum than anything else when you're inside and see what is really happening. It's just that not many people know Polish and thus have skewed view of things, not like it is with USA with english being lingua franca allowing everyone to see insanity on display.

I hope today's events will clarify what your politicians have to deal with, and their thinking about it.

It's already happened.  The wignutosphere are convinced zelensky totally fucked that meeting because he was just there to shake hands and the deal was already done.  So he should have just swallowed that shit.  It's not a bad take..but just look at how the magats actually seem to understand reality for a moment when they're concern trolling zelensky for getting support they magathematically don't want him to get. I think they understand it all the time. I think they're going along with the mad king eyes wide open just like the russians are with putin in ukraine.

Shit... the poor guy didn't stand a chance, did he? Sad In that interview he came across to me as incredibly genuine and kindhearted, and, sadly in our new reality, perhaps a bit naive, for trying to look for and seeing the best in Trump. Anyone watching that interview that couldn't see that has to be willfully ignorant, but then sadly we knew that already.

We talking trump or zelensky there? I mean, in either case, no. As soon as vance started his howler monkey impression zelensky was going to strongly correct him and donald was going to look like papaw yelling at his cereal bowl again.
