Oh I'm on board. As soon as you suggested there was a cheaper and even dumber idea, I knew I must have been wrong. After all, this is russia.

I'd have to defer to the subject matter experts in the image for that one. If it doesn't have it's own chapter in the russian field manual by now, it probably should.

The 31st mech is reporting that they've repelled a massive russian assault. 90kia, 50wia, 60vehicles destroyed. FPV drones, artillery, and remotely placed land mines. It's an interesting inversion from the expected combat conditions faced by infantry and dismounts back in the day. 20 years ago a fast moving assault over open terrain provided the best chance of success, whereas fighting in city streets was maximally unsafe. The worst case scenario was seeing your opponents face to face in cqc. Today, and for russia at least, an attempt at a textbook mechanized assault is essentially a death sentence, the worst case scenario is never seeing your opponent, and fighting from basements and rubble provides you with the best chance at survival.

Additionally, ukraine is reporting they scrapped two more su30s - also in drone attacks, one in the air one on the ground, using sidewinders fired from sea babies and kamikaze uavs. Meanwhile the number of patriot systems in ukraine will be up to ten shortly. Every time vlad bombs a kindergarten he gives zelensky the golden ticket to some western weapon candy shop. With every passing day it becomes more and more difficult to see what sort of plan or thinking backs putins decisions. Ukranian nazis are not going to decide..out of the goodness of their hearts...that they've killed enough russians, trump has proven himself to be an unreliable partner to both sides, just as he is in business, and in life....and the russian military is not getting less corrupt, more competent, or better staffed.

Not only is Trump's promise to end this war in 24 hours shown to be horseshit -- like 110 days ago -- Ukraine is also showing that it can survive without American assistance.
Of course, this same Administration that promised to cut off aid to Ukraine is now shipping off boneyard F-16s there for spare-parts hulks. My, how things change.

Russia has put another ground forces commander out to pasture with shoigu and all the rest. 6k officers are confirmed kia. Russian casualties will hit 1million by next month at current rates. The SMO continues to go well, everything according to plan. Putin remains a master strategist.
