... and:
Quote:Trump added that in the end, it would be up to Kyiv and Moscow to come to a deal.
“It’s a terrible war where both are losing a lot, it would be a great achievement for them, forget about me…,” he said of ceasefire talks during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity following the summit.
“I would also say the European Nations, they have to get involved a little bit,” the president told Hannity. “And if they’d like, I’d be at that next meeting. They’re going to set up a meeting now … not that I want to be there, but I want to make sure it gets done. And we have a pretty good shot of getting it done.”

The European nations are involved, and more than a "little bit", you dumbfuck.

I still don’t understand the point of having a summit on the war in Ukraine without Zelenskyy. I’m no global strategist, but I’m pretty sure he’s an interest party.

There was no intention of negotiating any settlement. The intention was to let Putin know he's in Trump's good graces and to remind Zelenskyy that he is Edvard Benes in Trump's Chamberlain play.

Quote:Mr. Trump, who is determined to get a Nobel Peace Prize, made no mention of his previous insistence that there needed to be an immediate cease-fire as the outcome of the meeting.
If not, Mr. Trump told reporters days ago, “there will be very severe consequences.”
But by the time Mr. Trump was interviewed by the Fox News host Sean Hannity shortly after his meeting with Mr. Putin, he said he did not think sanctions would be necessary for a while. And in an overnight post on his social media website, Mr. Trump made clear that he had walked away from the cease-fire demand.

Just as a note, Trump set an August 8 deadline for a ceasefire or else he would impose severe sanctions. #taco

Trump deadlines are usually the day his threats drop dead.

It seems that a US staffer left eight pages documents (described as sensitive rather than classified) in a public-use printer at an Alaskan hotel, which were not discovered until after all the principals had left.

I seem to recall someone in Trump’s orbit saying months ago that, ‘Incompetence has no place in this administration.’

The old-fashioned version of inclusion in a group chat. Just getting back to basics.
If incompetence had no place there would be no one in the administration at all.

What they mean by that was there's no room for additional incompetence, they're all full up.

Yep. I wrote last week that competence is a disqualifier.
