Russia and Ukraine
RE: Russia and Ukraine
Stalin played his hand quite well.

His main rival just used a doomsday weapon he had no access to yet, but he gets control of the entirety of eastern Europe.
Putting cant manage to control more then 15% of Ukraine as of today..

Putin gives a better APPEARANCE than Stalin, he makes a bigger show, but no.... Stalin played better.

I agree that Truman was much cannier (and cagier) than Trump, but that's a pretty low bar. Trump has a habit of just blurting out whatever he thinks, whereas Truman - an avid poker player - knew better.

I wonder how the traitor-in-chief will react.

Quote:Russia bombs US factory in one of war’s largest attacks

Russia struck an American business with cruise missiles overnight in one of the largest aerial attacks of the war so far, Ukraine has said.

The Ukrainian air force said some 574 drones and 40 missiles were fired overnight, primarily targeting western regions of the country – far from the battlefield’s front line in the east and south of the country.

The strikes killed one person and injured 15 more and struck a “major American electronics manufacturer” in the city of Mukachevo in Zakarpattia, according to Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine’s foreign minister.

Video footage showed a large fire at the premises of Flex Ltd, a multinational firm that has its headquarters in Texas.

The company manufactures electronic goods including games consoles, laptops and control units for cars and other vehicles.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Public show of indignation, private continuation of the fellatio routine.

“What do you think trump was trying to do?”

- D. Trump was probably preparing to do this:

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/god-...59004.html

But let’s remember: inconsistency and unpredictability does not make anyone a strong leader. That’s how Putin was in the 2000’s and 2010’s with some people being alarmed and most people minimizing his unconventional ways of doing things.

“Just as a note, Trump set an August 8 deadline for a ceasefire or else he would impose severe sanctions. #taco”

- Several sources are saying that Putin is buying time and showing-off as a true super-power (probably to his own audience). But as I said: Russians are probably having their worst time since the Stalin Era. No one is more anti-Russia than Putin and whoever is behind him.

(Bold mine)

On the contrary, Putin is completely pro-Russia. He’s made no bones about his desire to restore the Russian Empire, either directly or by proxy.

What he actually is, is anti-Russian. He’s willing to sacrifice as many Russian lives and drive the still living ones into abject poverty and misery in his quest for empire.

International Firms Could Be Bankrolling 1 Million Russian Soldiers

International firms could effectively be bankrolling 1 million Russian soldiers through taxes paid in the country, a report suggests.

According to figures from campaign group B4Ukraine and the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) Institute shared exclusively with Newsweek, foreign companies in Russia paid the country at least $20 billion in taxes in 2024. This figure, they said, was enough to pay for the salaries of one million Russian soldiers.

The 1 million soldiers figure was calculated using a news report that said Russian soldiers in the Kemerovo Region earn $18,400 per contract.

B4Ukraine and KSE Institute's report also found that, since the war in Ukraine started, foreign companies have paid over $60 billion in taxes to Russia—half of Russia's military budget for 2025 alone.

The five companies that paid the most profit tax in Russia in 2024 were Austrian bank Raiffeisen Bank ($402 million), Chinese car manufacturer Chery Automobile ($222 million), multinational tobacco company Philip Morris International ($220 million), Japanese tobacco company Japan Tobacco International (JTI; $182 million) and French home improvement and gardening retailer Leroy Merlin ($128 million).

Portugal’s president drops protocol in last speech to PSD summer university

Then followed characteristic plain speaking – perhaps plainer than usual. In the words of Diário de Notícias: “The head of state made an initial speech in which he addressed the international situation and described his US counterpart, Donald Trump, in an unusual way, to say the least”.

Portugal’s president described Mr Trump as a Soviet asset. It is not a new notion; Mr Trump has been thus described many times in the past – but not by sitting presidents of in Europe.

“The supreme leader of the world’s greatest superpower, objectively, is a Soviet or Russian asset,” Marcelo told his young audience.

“Objectively, the new American leadership has strategically favored the Russian Federation (…) they have gone from being allies on one side, to arbiters of the challenge…”

But this was only part of President Marcelo’s ‘goodbye speech’. He stressed that he intends to “step away from politics completely” when he ceases to be president on March 9 next year, and plans to teach in primary and secondary schools, participating only in the Council of State and in official ceremonies – and he admitted that his 10-year mandate really hasn’t gone the way he had imagined.

So yeah... that's a thing that happened.
If only the rest of Europe would take this and run with it.

Doesn't really matter if it would be enough to pay them..because they aren't getting paid.
