If there's no God, nothing is right or wrong
RE: If there's no God, nothing is right or wrong
You could ask the same question a thousand different ways Angel, my answer will be the same.

Ultimately, if you think that egoism or nihilism are true or that moral objectivity is not possible then it doesn’t matter whether or not there are gods, or deciders, or any of the rest of it. That would be a problem for the type of theism you have in mind, but not a problem for atheism.

If that’s the way things are…then that’s the way they are in either case. Nothing about adding or subtracting gods changes those real or alleged facts.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

It also would make ojective morality go away anymore then embracing gravity denial or claiming space doesn't exist makes those go away.

You keep doing the quick replies so your statements appear out of context and the reader can't see your flawed logic. You weren't doing that until things got tough for you to answer. That is not good faith. At least keep or bold what you're responding to.

You have alluded to the idea there's some standard that makes things wrong, though all you've given is a lot of mumbo jumbo. If you can concede there's no moral standards I'm required to follow, then we can move on to talk about deities.

Right. Let’s say that we’re a person who does believe in or find the explanations of or arguments for objective moral ideation credible or compelling. Let’s propose that those moral ideations strongly or persuasively suggest that X is wrong.

If some wild god were to suddenly hop up out of the bushes and say we should do X, then X isn’t transformed into a good thing on account of this gods godliness or this gods commands commandliness. We just have a god telling us to do bad things.

I keep doing quick statements because I’m on my phone, lol.

Why would I concede that there are no moral standards? I don’t believe that’s true…..I’m a moral objectivist. Not a nihilist. If you’re a nihilist then I wouldn’t expect you to follow ir accept those standards…but if you’re a nihilist, then any gods standards fall to that nihilism as well.

Honestly, nihilism seems like a much thornier problem for theism than for atheism.

What's an objectivist? Are you a follower of Ayn Rand?

The Grand Nudger  used no flawed logic or mumbo jumbo. He has provided a basis for objective morality, unlike AngelThMan, and he does not have to concede any nor has he acted in bad faith, unlike AngelThMan. Anyone can simply read through the thread for context.

AngelThMan doesn't understand the difference between an objectvist in the Rand sense and an objectivist in the follower of moral objectivity...lol

Once again, some answer his stupid question with irrufuable arguments and he just repeats the same rubbish.
