How Can Christians Still Believe??

RE: How Can Christians Still Believe??
On Moses...
from numbers 31:14

Quote:14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, [with] the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.

15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?

16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

Nice.

Just more stories in service of stories Average. Exodus simply doesn't appear to have happened, not even by means of volcanoes, tsunamis or mis-translation. Just didn't happen, period. It's a myth about a deliverer. Pretty common type of myth right there, in fact the entire narrative of both the OT and NT revolves around the mythical prophetic cycle of mythical deliverers.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

So we safely assume that G-C and any other Abrahamic religious nutjob sexually abuses their own children (as a form of deistic command) and feel that it is OK to rape, pillage and kill others who are not of their own little petty clique?... but hey...their deity lubbs you. Heart

No belief is required for that statement to hold Average Smile

Hehehe, I'm just nitpicking buddy, you have to be careful with words like "belief" around this place, there are predators about. They never miss an opportunity to equate their beliefs with other's dry statements of facts. In fact, Im pretty sure that if such opportunities were not presented to them, they'd starve, and go off in search of more fertile hunting grounds, like swingsets and jungle gyms.

I'm aware of verses which encourage stoning disobedient children but I'm not aware of anything in the Bible which condones pedophilia.

This pretty much proves the point of why I think its dubious that any Christian, Jew or Muslim should be any position of government. If they're going to say a book that professes such is the Word of God and the highest moral authority.
