God heals through modern medicine?

RE: God heals through modern medicine?
It's nothing more than religion riding on the coattails of science. Funny how it's taken us this long to develop what we consider modern medicine, with germ theory only been around for some 150 years or so. But every time there's a medical or scientific breakthrough, Christians are there to give God the credit for allowing man to discover it.

God still won't heal amputees, though.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Sometimes God giveth, and God taketh away.. then sometimes giveth back, but usually keepeth. When he keepeth it is for greater good, when he giveth, it is mercy. Sometimes he keepeth a bit and giveth a bit. Frankly god just goeth with the floweth and doesn't give a fucketh.

If you’re going to watch tele, you should watch Scooby Doo. That show was so cool because every time there’s a church with a ghoul, or a ghost in a school. They looked beneath the mask and what was inside?

Perhaps this is all an attempt to reconcile their revulsion of science with their need of good medical care. Believing god works through medical scientists keeps them from having to be cured from diseases on prayer alone.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Yes, because they've seen that relying on prayer alone doesn't work. Funny how they're not willing to admit it, even though they know it's the truth. But yet when someone is cured of a disease, God always gets the credit.

I'm usually mellow (believe it or not), but the claiming prayer cures illness is a gripe I can't let go of.

Cancer sufferer has total spontaneous remission, GOD DID IT
Point out the fact spontaneous remission via prayer is consistent with the average norm for total spontaneous remission.
LALALALALAGOD DID IT LALALALALA

Makes me want to see if prayer can unbreak a nose.

Oh yes he can! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_OI4TtzlDw Oh wait these are stem cells. W..well maybe he can't. Oh and they're pig stem cells so I guess Allah can't do it either. Oh shit, what supernatural being can we praise for giving those evolutionist doctors the ability to create treatments like this?

1. Do people expect God to clean up every mistake of ours? Most amputees are result of direct or indirect sin. Our body's frailty and imperfection is a result of original sin.
2. We're closer to God when we're weak. Most people admit they are changed for the better after or during a calamity.
3. The afterlife matters more than this one. Some amputees inspire people or could if they made the effort to. They accomplish a purpose they wouldn't have without their disability.
4. We'd be irresponsible if our limbs regenerated freely. Kids might be more likely to go to war or jump off roofs for fun. Admit it, you'd at least cut your finger to try it out.
5. Maybe God has given us multiple opportunities for a scientific breakthrough... and we failed by aborting 1.5 billion babies in the last 60 years. Imagine if one had the cure for cancer too.
Ziploc, I like the idea of stem cells... adult stem cells. They are extracted through the abdomen, if you hadn't heard of them. People like the concept of embryonic stem cells because they serve as a rationalization for abortion. Ironically, most aborted babies are long past the embryonic stage.

Oh Jesus Christ, Undecieved if back.

Undecieved, researchers like embryonic stem cells because quote: "embryonic stem cells still have the advantage in their ability to differentiate more readily than adult stem cells." >adult stem cells are not easily grown after isolation from mature adult tissues." "Adult stem cells are more likely to have abnormalities from DNA mutations, which can occur due to any number of factors. The 'youth' of embryonic stem cells means that they are less likely to carry mutations and they also regenerate much more quickly than adult stem" cells."http://www.explorestemcells.co.uk/adultvsembryonicstemcells.html

There is no conspiracy, it's just science.
