The difference between the Judeo-Christian Bible and other religious books is that there is EVIDENCE showing the Judeo-Christian Bible was inspired by Almighty God Jehovah.

Ban this moron.

One is left to wonder what sort of psychological dysfunction would result in this sort of behavior.

1.
How could Isaiah have known that the earth is circular, considering that the writing of the book of Isaiah was completed in 732 B.C.E. and Christopher Columbus did not make his first journey across the Atlantic until 1492 AD/CE or 2,224 years AFTER Isaiah wrote that the earth is a circle?

2. How did Job know that the earth hangs upon nothing--indicating gravity--considering that the book of Job was completed in 1473 B.C.E. and it wasn't until 1687 AD/CE that Isaac Newton published his theory about gravitational forces--3,160 years AFTER Moses wrote that the earth hangs upon nothing?

3. Where did Isaiah and Moses get this info?

1. The earth is not circular as Isiah says, it is spherical. He could of said it was round and that would of been accurate, he did not. Did he get that flawed analysis from God?
I'd also like to point out that if you look at the horizon you might notice it has a curve to it, you could also look at the sun and the moon while you're at it and go:
"Well maybe the worlds circular... Derp".

2. Gravity is not nothing, it is a force that is measurable and comes into being around objects of significant mass.
A man looking at the sky could easily make the ignorant assumption:
"Well I don't see *anythang*, the earth must hang on nothing... Derp."

3. See replies to one and two...
"Well herpie derpie, derpie de doo".

A JW?

Ah,that makes sense. I KNEW there was something familiar in the style;she has lifted the lot(including the titles) verbatim from "The Watctower " .That turgid and idiotic publication has been around for decades. If you haven't read it, pick up a copy in the street. It will show you that people are indeed capable of being as willfully ignorant and stupid as you may always have suspected.Tiger

Earth isn't a circle.. It's an oblate sphere... Isaiah probably got spun around too many times at the pin the tale on the donkey game and came up with some amazing idea the Earth is a circle because he can spin around in a circle..

Quote:How did Job know that the earth hangs upon nothing

How do you hang something on "nothing"?? Nothing isn't anything and doesn't exist ya moron.. May as well have tried to say Earth is hung on non-existence.

Quote:Where did Isaiah and Moses get this info?

Who knows? The local idiot? All we know from reading it is that it's definitely not from an educated source.

Quote:He does not tire out or grow weary.

The book of Genesis is a direct contradiction of that statement...

Wait what? Apparently I haven't heard the full range of this flavor of crazy.

They're one of the groups that believes in a bodily resurrection and that people will inherit the literal earth I believe. Oh, are they the ones with the 144,000 chosen people? Or is that Mormons? I can't remember.

Specifically 144,000 saved comes from The Seventh Day Adventists and I think JW's . Based on yet another loopy interpretation of the loopiest and most obscure book in the entire Christian canon;Revelations. The idea of predestination comes from Calvinism (16th century)

With a wonderfully pragmatic and self serving logic, the Calvinists worked out that God reveals the saved by making them prosperous. (the original prosperity theology) Conversely, the poor were obviously damned. This smug mindset helped form cultural norms of measuring success and the notion of "the deserving poor". These concepts permeate western society to this day.
