Sorry for the double post. Please delete.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Actually that's considered quite good pronunciation for the average Londoner

I thought he said then you said that then I butted in and you said that he said and I said, and then you said, and I thought you meant that........I get my coat.

I hope that clears it all up.

Apololgy accepted.

I agree with FrankkieJ in that 'you' have nothing to appologize for; however, I look beyond personal accountabily for the sake of continuing dialogue. What you need to realize is that Christians hide behind a scheme where 'they' are not held accountable; Christ died for their sins, right? The idea of vicarious atonement is reprehensible, but this is exactly the basis of Christianity. It's the most disgusting moral code ever invented.

The difference of opinion isn't the issue. The issue is that Christians continue to use this standard combined with an ancient text to attempt to dictate how I should conduct my life. This is where my understanding stops and I become unhinged. I would give great latitude to Christians if they only had the common decency to keep it to themselves; however, they seem hell bent on making me play by rules of life invoked by men living two centuries ago.

Being a pussy can make you pretty popular. Or was it having one..? Big Grin
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Two centuries ago? (Okay, I'm just being an ass, but it's always funny when someone gets part way through a rant and then runs out of talent. Carry on.)

RE: Apology
I take my politeness where I can get it. To the extent he's speaking for himself, I appreciate the apology and take it as a promise to do better in future. To the extent he's speaking for others, I totally get being ashamed of people on one's own side, so I value the sentiment. I hope it's a trend. It might be more boring on the various atheist and atheist-leaning forums if fewer Christian visitors come just to preach and troll, but it would reflect something good happening in RL.

Isn't the purpose of criticism to elicit improvement? Whatever you say about Jeff, and I've had my disagreements with him, it's clear he is sincerely trying to be reasonable, in the sense of not losing his cool and being willing to listen to different views. I find one guy like that more challenging than a dozen guys who just come to preach.
