But maybe we should be a bit more critical about freedom of religion? However, freedom of religion is a 1st Amendment right here in the States. I don't want someone being critical of my freedom of speech or my freedom to peaceably assemble,
Those we all consider basic human rights, but is religion a basic human right ? ( or should it be ? )

Religion is a basic human right because we can't force people to think a certain way. We're not thought police.

I guess if we have parents that think "all niggers are criminals" or "spikes are hurting the american way of life". they have all the right to teach their children so. Hell, even WBC members have all the right to teach their childs that "god hates fags" etc, etc.
There is something about this that makes me cringe greatly, but hey, you can't call something freedom if you can't piss on someones leg at will.

Therein we see the dividing line. What floats around in our own heads is our own business..we have every right to whatever that is. What escapes that sphere...well,that..is a story...for another time.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

The mind of a child can be molded into whatever it is you wish that child to be. Where you begin to change the world is at first in the minds of all the children.

Alright i agree, but at least society says that it is wrong and if you do it openly you will be punished by law.

In the UK you will, as with most of the supposedly "progressive" Europe. The US still has the right idea on this issue. Freedom of thought is important. Freedom to express one's thoughts (freedom of speech) is equally as important. In this regard, freedom of religion is the same as freedom of speech.
