To be more accurate and precise, the illusion of unrestrained pure capitalism was used to sell what actually was corporatism.

Just because what we have is actually different from the political ideologies that are used to support it doesn't divorce from the concept that the premise of unrestrained capitalism is what convinces people to support corporatism to the point that fair regulation and removal of corporate welfare is considered "socialism."

What?!? Corporations don't want unrestrained capitalism...they want corporatism. Under capitalism, they would have to play fair and face competition. With corporatism, they buy politicians and get policy changed to suit them. Ron Paul was a supporter of the free market when in office...did you ever see him lobbying for big corporations?

Life's a balance. Neither government bureaucrats nor business tycoons are inherently evil, they have their roles to play in a properly balanced economy. I believe in regulated capitalism with checks and balances between unions, government regulation and business interests.

So the markets can not regulate themself? How do you explain Ebay's dominance when they rely 100% on customer regulation and DRO model?
