You cannot seriously be this stupid. Please. Tell me you're joking.
They didn't even use examples from the bible, they used religious examples to illustrate the meaning of the word more effectively. I defined the word like you asked me to, and you accuse me of using circular logic.

It doesn't matter. That's not the correct definition.

I am pure and endless pain
And Surtr is my name.
See me rise, the mighty Surt,
Destroyer of the universe.
Bringer of flames and endless hurt
Scorcher of men and Earth.

LOL! You can't seriously be that stupid, yet you obviously are...
They didn't use examples from the Bible yet they used religious examples??? Where the fuck did those "religious" examples come from then?

LOL again! Holy fuck man, what kind of stupid cunt are you exactly?
If eonian is derived from eon, then the definition of eon is key to determining what eonian means...

Irrelevant in regards to the definition of eonian.

Except, crucially, the word has a dual meaning, as some words do. You are claiming that definition A is the one used in the bible. Surtr is claiming definition B is, and more importantly, he provided a logical reason for his thinking. This one:
Quote:Let me clear something up for you: There is no indication in the bible of where those souls would go if Hell was temporary, and when they are brought back in Revelations, they are cast back into the "lake of fire" after being judged again.
So now, instead of simply insisting that there is no other definition- a position that is roundly refuted by the fact that most dictionaries produce two results- you have to either provide a reason why your definition is more likely, or to admit that you have none, and as a consequence take the hit to your position's credibility.
Have I laid this out clearly enough for you?
Sorry to butt into someone else's argument, but fucking hell, some people just do not know how to debate correctly...

Claims of Allah are the same as claims as Yahweh are the same as claims of Vishnu are the same as claims of Thor and Apollo. Your failure to see that as even to fiction like Harry Potter and Star Wars can be turned into a religion as easily.
Kwanza and Scientology are the most recent examples of personal delusions becoming popular memes.
All you have to do to make lemmings out of other people is sell them a utopia and demand a loyalty test. That can be political or religious or both, but the tribalism is the same and just as deadly.

Show me where I made any claim about the existence of god(s) or anything supernatural...

You haven't once produced an argument beyond repeating your initial premise as though the sheer fact that you have said it gives it credibility? That's... pretty fatal, as an objective debater.

If any of you valued "evidence", then I'm fairly certain that none of you, except for the incredibly stupid, would ever make the claim that the Bible teaches "eternal" torment...
Matthew 25:
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ 44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ 45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
Revelation 14:11
“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
I'm sorry, you were saying?
