But then this that follows its precious: Quote:I have lost years of my life because of that bullshit. You are ruining peoples lives. Ok, but then you say: Quote: If you are the one who gets addicted, it is no ones fault but your own, and you will suffer and then you will go back and do the same thing I am doing now, with your head down low, realizing that you couldn't "outsmart" drugs. That is the culture. Wich one is it? Is it the drugs or your own feeble mind, to blame for the circunstances of your life? Do you really want to go there?
It is both. It is drugs and your feeble mind. I am feeble. All my friends were feeble. Some have made it, some have not. It is incredibly selfish to live and interact with people you know are going down the tubes and not care. That is how people that use drugs treat each other. They may give a superficial "dude, you should stop that". But they don't really care.
Why should atheists accept the illegal drug subculture? Isn't that a bit extreme? Is that what you consider love or freedom? Maybe they should decriminalize drugs, I am not really sure. But why promote it? Why not keep it to yourself if you do, realizing that you are putting those around you at an incredibly high risk. RE: Ecstasy

What? Are you being deliberately disingenous? It is obvious from what you quoted that the ethics state if you hurt yourself, it is your fault. Where does it say anything about hurting others? jstrodel Wrote:It is both. It is drugs and your feeble mind. I am feeble. All my friends were feeble. Some have made it, some have not. People aren't trying to legislate stamp collecting, nor are they often discriminatory against non-stamp colectors. Parents aren't going to kick their kid out of the house for not collecting stamps no matter how avid of stamp collecters they are (unless they have a mental illness or something). Look at how many people are saying it is ok to use ecstasy. Because you present yourself that way, like you are encouraging drug use, which is what you are doing. And you promote it, in a deeper and more insidious way, when you say it is immoral to believe in God, when you attack Christians that believe in God, when you say that God's existence has been disprove, when you attack every last strand that people are holding on to to tell them how to live a good life, when you try and take away their hope and their strength and what allows them to wake up and not be monsters. When you say there is no problem with being a nihilist, or you say that it is sufficient to tell people that they must be ethical but not give them any sort of tools to build and ethical system beyond arbitrary categories like happiness or respect for sentient beings. There is no reason to care about those things if you take athiesms seriously intellectually, as I did, if you understand it to imply nihilism, as I did. The stakes are high. If you don't believe in God, fine, but why encourage drug use? Why tell people that it is immoral or intellectually deficient to believe in God when you don't have anything to put in its place. Supposing that religion was untrue, but given the nihilism of atheism, based on soley utilitarian grounds, couldn't you argue that if religion increased happiness, it was justified? Why not follow that, if all you can. It does increase happiness, but it is also true. Why try and take peoples faith away from them? Why try to make responsible ecstasy users out of them? Do you really want to be going down this path while belonging to a subculture of institutionalized racism, sexism and near genocidal violence? You really wanna be talking about how people present themselves in a situation like yours, Strodel?

Stunning logic. How about counting all of us who aren't? Oh wait, you did when you lumped us all together.
