I will give an example. If we found a way to bring back people to life after they die, but they must be dead for 1 hour (arbitrary time, it's just a philosophical example) while the operation to bring them back to life occurs, would it be ok for us not to bring them back to life, when we can, although they would only live another 30-50 years. This is like some future star trek technology.

This is just a philosophical example, to put in perspective, you shouldn't stop something from living...be it alive or not.

Of course, then people get into pills and contraceptives, and there needs to be a balance of thought here. There is a huge difference when something is practically on it's way to life, is almost there, and you put a stop to it. In the same way, the example I put, you are reviving a life...but not killing a life already alive. So what makes it wrong if we have the means to support them, to not revive them (in like a star trek technology world?).
