Hey smax. Any information i link you could be biased. Far better you did that yourself. There's a lot of information on the subject, covering all stages of development where people do stake their claim.
One would have to be scientifically illiterate to think that a fetus is not human; every relevant biology source one can check, whether textbook or online, describes the biological life cycle of Homo sapiens as beginning with the fertilized egg or zygote (Saladin, 2001; Browder, 1991; Moore, 1982; see also “Human” in Wikipedia, specifically the biology section
describing the human life cycle). And clearly a fetus is innocent, both legally and morally, being categorically unable to violate any law or ethic. And by definition elective abortions are deliberate, given what “elective” means.
Personally, it is wholly logical to me, and see if you disagree or not, that all the potential a life is ever going to contain is going to be there from conception. Once the sperm and the egg have combined, that potential life is sealed.
Now the mother as host facilitates the passing of that blueprint into an independent human being. The unborn cannot sustain its own life until quite late in the pregnancy. In some places, including my own, it's legal to terminate that life.
Besides cases such as unviable pregnancies for either the mother or the child... Who should make the decision? I think the mother is best placed usually. Say she really doesn't want it, nor wants anyone else to have it, the fact she has to address is that this is a potential life she is taking. She cannot lessen her responsibility for that decision on the grounds that it would die anyway without her support. It may be less emotional to deal with something we know can feel no pain, as in cases of very early abortions, but the result is the same: a potential life is terminated.
That isn't to say she cannot make that decision. In most places she can. I don't ever intend to take away the choice. What I cannot deny is the fact of what the choice is. ie you cannot lessen it to be somehow not taking a life.
@the picture in the OP. The first statement isn't from God, but a particular persons opinion. The second statement concerns the just taking of life. How this is supposed to convince anyone of anything astounds me.
