To answer your question, I refer you back to my original response. This is an infinite loop, so feel free to get off of it anytime.

You are a child who is refusing to answer a question because you realise that you don't have an answer and that maybe you are not justified in believing what you believe. It is frankly pathetic. I have restrained myself from insulting you since this thread started (unlike many of my fellows) but you are really pushing me now.

The question is out of context of this thread. Start a new thread with your fully detailed confession and I will post mine. Otherwise, have a seat.

When you people publish a tome of the details of your life that lead you to Atheism I will have mine rolling off the presses too. Till then, I refer to my previous response.

I was brought up in a religious home.

When I started to ask for evidence, reasoned argument and valid logic to support the claim a god exists, I was given none. I continued my study in hopes to fine what I wasn't getting at home, only to discover that none of the claims that a god exists could be supported by the above criteria.

I no longer believe in the existence of a god.

Your turn...

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Where are the volumes of details all of you have spewed forth as a requirement to speak on these lofty forums? Or am I subject to it because someone called me out? Well, I call all of you out, so let's all lock ourselves away in a room and type out all of the details over the course of say 30 days, and then meet back here for a one big confession party. After that we'll have cake and punch.

Should've known you're a waste of time the moment you said evolution wants men to become gods.

Could you keep your argument in one place for a second?

You were arguing in favour of teaching your kids religion over science, saying science is flawed and religion delivers.

When I answered that question you claimed to be all in favour of science and asked where I got the impression that you weren't from.

I answered that question and now you bring up history - which is not religion.

Are we expecting the Bible to repeat itself? Lets hope not - we have moved on morally massively since those times.

I never argued in favor of teaching religion over science. I don't see how one is superior to the other. They are both institutions that man built. You answered my question by poking fun at my 3000 year old book, that is apparently flawed because it is 3000 years old.

History repeats itself, therefore studying it can help us predict the future.

You're putting words in my mouth. I never said that. Straw manning makes your arguments so much easier, eh? This is why I said this should be the Hall of Logical Fallacy.

If you already understood it, then why did you ask the question?

I have been wading through strawmen since I started this thread. If I throw some up I am only being trendy.

I was asking what the end goal of Atheism is. Is that really hard to understand? There were several different responses.

I suppose you don't see the irony in this, coming from someone who believes in a doctrine that wasn't satisfied with the original God so they had to pile on another one.

WARNING: Do not reflexively vomit up the idea of the trinity. If you do, I will happily reinsert it through another orifice.

Several different people used several different ways to tell you that there was no end goal. They used different words in different orders to tell you the exact same thing. It's clearly not satisfying you, so now you're riling everyone up in order to get the effect you want.

Not always.

The French built the Maginot line, basically the ultimate trench, because they expected the second world war would be just like the first world war.

The Germans went round it.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.

Good, one of you finally confessed. I will follow the same format.

I was brought up in a religious home.

I never asked anyone for evidence, but looked for myself because I did not want to know Him only by faith. I went to Bible college, took a class on logic, and worked through, what I think, were some pretty complex logical models of why the universe began, how it began, and then I started exploring Evolution and Creationism and comparing them to the logical models I had created in my mind. Since then it is a regular part of my life to read books, articles, blogs, and to accumulate stories, eyewitness accounts, and my own experiences about the existence of God. That is why I said I would have to write a voluminous tome to go into all the details.

I believe in the existence of God faithfully, logically, Scientifically, spiritually, and morally. I am sure there are other reasons why I believe in Him, but they escape me.

You don't see how one is superior to the other? One is useless today as it was written 3000 years ago, by morons. Its not useless because its 3000 years old. Its useless because of what it says.

History does repeat itself - but that has nothing to do with your Bible which is as vile a document as mankind has ever put together. The Bible is not history - do I need to repeat that?
