That looks like a kool story. What's the book's name? I may download it and read it... if the 6th part of the song of fire and ice takes too long to arrive...

Just use the hide tags, or the spoiler ones...

That doesn't make him sound any less humble than my interpretation of it.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

The Book of Revelation can be taken to be referring to the political situation of the Roman Empire at the time and the anti-Christ would have been the emperor Nero.

Great. As if dealing with the Prince of Darkness wasn't bad enough, now we have to worry about the pervy uncle, too?

No shit. Martin better not pull the same shit he did with #5- making a release date and then retracting it and taking TWO MORE YEARS to get the damned thing out. I heard that the TV show writers have been on him so they don't run out of material, though.

Because of the extensive use of symbolism and numbers, there is a staggering array of possible ways to interpret Revelation. The JWs have a fairly elaborate interpretation that conveniently tracks their progress as a religious group in the 20th century. For those who believe, the way everything falls into place is so neat and accurate that they simply have to admit that the JWs are the right hand of god.

They believe only 144,000 people in all of history will be saved from death. Though I suppose it still beats your 0.

How? A fictional 144,000 exactly equals a guaranteed zero.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

They believe that 144,000 will join Jesus in heaven, and that many millions more will live forever on Earth after it has been cleansed of wickedness (which includes every non-JW). And yes, if imaginary figures mattered, they'd be offering a much better deal than zero.

By the way- the Muslim Mahdi they are all looking for is the antichrist of the bible.
Same dude given from diametrically opposed points of view.
The Muslims are trying to create mayhem to bring him.
The Christians say he will bring the mayhem.
