That's the idea behind why self defence isn't considered murder, because everyone has a right to life and a right to defend their own lives. And I don't believe I was talking about me actively going out of my home into theirs and slaughtering them, I was talking about them right this second physically threatening my life. The only other option seems to be not defend myself and just let them kill me.
What if they just wanted some blood or hair, maybe you dog, Or cat?

Are they asking? For the first two I'll tell them to f off. For my dog, that's a no.

If they're not asking, I'll give them the first two. No one touches my dog. No one. I seriously will go all out for that guy.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Because I asked him to.

And isnt it the normal thing to do? To articulate a reply that makes sence when asked a question?

Would it help if I rephrased it as "why would he change the habit of a lifetime?"

I dont know him that long.

And actualy, I really dont want to know him long enought to be capable of making a judgement over his behavior in course of a lifetime.

Never mind. The point of the humour is obviously lost.

I'm old school. If a joke has to be explained, it's most likely not going to be worth it. Wait until you're less drunk and, if you want, go back over the exchange; all the pieces will still be there.
