They're trying, but they suck pretty hard at it, now. We're going on 15 states with gay marriage if Jersey and Hawaii finish what they've started. Just a year ago? There were only six. They're not stopping this train now.

Yeah I read not long ago where they were backing off their harsh stance against gay marriage and LBGT church members, but I found it hard to believe that such a conservative organization as the Mormon church would stop opposing marriage equality altogether. Oh well, let them pour millions into fighting it, since it's going to happen all across the country sooner or later. It would be like going back to the late 1960's and trying to fight civil rights. They'll just end up being marginalized like the Republican Party will be in another 20-30 years if they keep fighting marriage equality.

Conservatives need to realize that this is yet another battle they've lost, just like mandatory prayer in school.

Maybe 30 years from now their head Bishop or whatever will have a "revelation" that God approves of gay marriage, just like they did back in the 70's when they were about to lose their tax-exempt status over their rule not allowing black people to be Mormon clergy.
