No it was a statement made by a British General in the 700's about preventing Muslim unity. Not the terrorists or Saudi or ther gulf governments.
A complete lie by the guy who said Shia and Sunni have been killing each other. It's been 98% Sunni extremists targeting Shia. Very rarely do Shia attack and they never purposefully attack innocents. Al Qaeda targets villages while shia "militia" target the terrorist groups. To the clueless who said religion has prohibited progress. What atheist civilization have done anything? Religion and morals come from God and are affiliated with the groups, laws as well. If everyone was atheist there would be no laws, rules, morals. There would be anarchy and endless killing with no communities or societies. Atheists haven't done anything in this world. They've simply thrived off the things that people who follow God's command have discovere for the most part

Wow, what a poor post. First, i strongly doubt a British general said anything in the 700's. I'm sure you mean in the 1700's, right? Secondly, The statement that Shia and Sunni kill each other is not negated by who is killed amongst the groups. Lastly, "atheist civilization" is simply everything that is not religion. In that case it produced all of the advances in civilization. Atheists have been strongly censored in the past so we don't even know who was or wasn't an atheist. Very many of our famous leaders in science have been staunch atheists, so your logic fails there badly too.

There is a great deal of truth to scientific attainments under the Abbasid's in Iraq for example. Baghdad was a jewel at one time. Of course, it was a jewel in a necklace of commerce which stretched from the Tang Empire in China through the various Indian kingdoms and on to Byzantium. Meanwhile, the xtians in the West were merrily slaughtering each other or the Vikings but fortunately they did get their act together in time to kick the shit out of the muslims at Tours....one of the most important battles in history.

They haven't created anything ground breaking, the scientists that are atheist develop off work scientists with religion have. The only thing atheists have done is create homosexuality, porn, consumerists mindless societies of people. Ayatollah Khomeini was a revolutionary leader who freed Iranians from the Shah that was out up as a puppet in 1953 after the coup on mossadegh. You're a puppet of the propaganda media as well
