What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?

Okay. Apparently the TV doesn't resize images that are too large to display, so I have to resize 2,600 images from their original resolution to 720p resolution maximum (1280x720 pixels). I believe ImageMagick will do this, but the last time I tried something like this, I couldn't figure out the correct command. These are in multiple directories, so ideally I need something I can do with a batch file. (It doesn't have to be, this just simplifies the task a little bit.) If anyone knows how to do this and would help, please PM me a solution. Thanks in advance. - rae

Chicken of the Sea slightly smoked sardines in oil. For economy sardines, they're pretty tasty.

Rae, I think you want to use mogrify: http://www.imagemagick.org/script/mogrify.php
And put that in a script that cycles all folders:

Just finished filling out an adoption form for a new dog, another aussie/heeler cross. A young boy who looks much like my Heidi but with two brown eyes. Wish me luck.

Fan-fucking-tastic. I think that's just what the doctor ordered. It took me a mere 10 minutes to prototype the solution with that. It'll be processing overnight, but total effort should be no more than 30 minutes. Awe-some!

Thank you, pocaracas. Doomo arigato!

(ETA: And it's off to the races! Just about 30 minutes total work invested, including copying files. And it's working perfectly. ETA2: *bing!* It's done!)

Two hours, a broken hand mixer, having to do the lot by hand, sore arms (not accustomed to this) and vwhalla!

We just found out that there will be some takeaway restaurants open on Christmas Day around here. Guess who's definitely not cooking shit on Wednesday? :-D

I went for a walk along a coastal track today, often you'll come across a lace monitor and they'll get out the road, but they take their time. They're like smaller versions of a Komodo Dragon. The one I met today didn't do the usual thing and creep off the side of the path, he went tearing off down the track.

The track, post and rail fence and then it steeply falls off to the sea, steeper and screeish the other.

I think I may have encouraged him to run once he started, it was a thing to see.

I wasn't to know some tourists were going to come around the bend at that moment, perhaps it was reasonably foreseeable that some might but on this occasion the gift of foresight wasn't with me.

I confess, I found their frantic attempt to climb the fence quite funny.
Not a bad reaction really, you don't want six foot of serious fearful lizard seeing you as a vertical tree like thing, offering sanctuary and then trying to climb you.

"We didn't know what it was"
They've got a story, the lizard will probably be much bigger in their version.
