If another Jesus came and did the same things today, working for the same god, then god would have to send far fewer people to hell.

Salvation was about reducing the number of people in Hell. All the rest was just making people's wordily lives better. There were a couple instances of Jesus saying that a person's sins were forgiven, but the real work occurred on the Cross.
His ministry vs. his mission of ultimate Salvation is akin to give a man a fish vs. teach a man to fish.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

Since God already provided the path, I doubt He would want to do so again. This is the same God who wiped out civilizations left and right for disobeying Him.

Because all we have of the jesus of yesterday is largely inaccurate accounts of hearsay recorded by anonymous authors, given to us through copies of copies of copies. This way I would have soemthign far more credible to put my faith into.,
