Automatic transmission is from the devil. I know because I currently drive one :S
It NEVER does what I want it to do. Fortunately, in a small car it's rather harmless compared to trucks.

Yes, I do not agree with you on a plethora of things and nor do I like the philosophical views you subscribe to, but I really do live by my own standards and do not judge people for wanting to live their own lives as they see fit. I do not wish you harm, certainly not death, and since I don't know your wife or the other driver, why should I wish harm upon them? Do you really live with such a fatalistic view that you think that us disagreeing means that I wish you dead? Do you pray for me to die, since we don't see eye to eye?

I find that many Christians, no doubt thanks to the vengeance-obsessed monster they worship and the thorough misanthropy that defines the very nature of their beliefs, seem to assume that the people they have historically demonized, persecuted and terrorized for centuries are just as base as they are and are just waiting for the opportunity to repay every atrocity in full.

A couple things, I was willing to pray for 'whatever it took' for you guys to find God this included AIDS or cancer or anything else. (Health, wealth, wife, strife, life..) why? Because again this is what it took for me. I went into the negative on all of these things, and now on the other side I have been blessed with an abundance of all five. What ever you hold closest to your heart, you must be willing to let go.

This did really happen, and it wasn't the first time. 20 plus years ago I did the same thing in my old mustang and it was a manual transmission. That time I did hydroplain. this time I believe it to be black ice. In fl. When it rains just a little bit for the first time in a while the water displaces the oil in the road and it rises to the top. While at speed you can't see it unless your are changing direction or speed. Then your car truck or whatever decides to do its own thing.

I was joking about one of you praying for my death. Although Minnie or cinny haven't said anything yet... Dodgy

I was going back toward the scene of the crime today and take a few pics to see if I could determine how close we came to on coming traffic.. (And to see if or how many angel foot prints were left in the mud from where they/he was pushing us back) Big Grin

The scary part was my wife said I'm glad you were driving because I put my hands over my eyes when we hit the grass...

I don't think God was trying to silence me. If He were trying to do it that way you all be wondering to what happened to Me. I have a friend that just turned forty who was diagnosis end with a terrible and rare autoimmune blood disorder that the doctors don't know how it starts or How to treat. At the time I was feeling sad that I was going to loose one of my best friends so soon, and did not know how to reach out to him. This whole incident shook me awake and I have a definite direction now as it reminded me of my own life struggles and direction.

His transmission oil is leaking. That causes a drop in pressure and tells the transmission to down shift. Check underneath where you park for puddles.

WOT= Wide Open throttle, it is also the throaty sound an engine makes when you have your foot to the floor... I did mean to exclude anyone.

Oh, and low fluid would cause slipping not a down shift as it takes a larger volume of fluid to change a gear than it does to maintain one. (because you have to energize a clutch pack while maintaining the current drive pack till the next gear can take the torque from the current gear.) Low fluid means a drop in pressure which means the chutches do not get energized which means a slip not a down shift in transmissions of that configuration (RWD)
