He had earned trust. He abused it. He made a mistake. Of you kill a bunch of people in a bus queue in your car, is that Ford's fault?
Is Ford omniscient or omnipotent? Could Ford possibly know you were going to do that, or do anything to stop you once you decided to?
I can't believe I actually have to tell you this, but defending your god's behavior by suggesting that he is careless or stupid or neglectful or deliberately malicious doesn't actually help your argument.
I very honestly do not comprehend how you justify worshiping a god to whom you personally hold such low standards of competence.

It's much more interesting to interpret the bible esoterically. For example:
The 42 lads might represent one having many fantastically elaborate egos in place/use. The mocking may be the egos repressing normal, sane brain functioning and presence consciousness. The two female bears could represent the hemispheres of the brain uniting to combat the alien egos (42 mockers) within. "God" in this case would represent the "Higher Mind" of mankind in a spiritual sense. This model keeps the story in tact from a "Biblical" context - whatever that is.
Why Christians lack imagination in reading their favorite book is strange to me

Drich, you have not actually answered any of my questions in a sane or even mildly intelligent way to put it very, very politely.
So what you're saying is...if someone is a prophet from God, they get a free pass to curse innocent kids who don't know any better?
Oh, and I was being sarcastic about the female bears, I found it amusing that they HAD to be female, as they are, you know, causing the destruction, as females get blamed for everything in the Bible... how was I to know a Christian was going to come on here and take my mocking question seriously.
So ALL 42 kids were frozen in fear, and the bears picked them off one by one? Wow. You are not doing the grappling, logically challenged Christian stereotype any favors.
Oh no, what's this? God made the kids fall asleep so the bears could maul them in their own sweet time? Gee Drich, you got me there bro! LOL
But the next one is my favourite: You "liking" my mockery of pitiful Christians saying he was "in fear for his life" - saying you'll use it....USE IT.....you've basically just admitted that Christians will use ANY excuse for their God, no matter how inaccurate no matter what the source.
Because that's what Christians waste ALL THEIR TIME doing - making excuses for a bloodthirsty and morally bankrupt book. Grappling desperately, regardless of the truthfulness of the excuse - who cares, it's an excuse for "God's" behavior. You lie through your teeth, don't do your research and latch onto "excuses"(FEEBLE ONES, AT THAT) for the Bible's moral failings.
Who am I to judge? Someone who wouldn't send bears to kill children, because it's wrong, that's who I am.

Regardless of why it was done, if Ford knew it was going to be done, and had the ability to stop it, it is culpable.

But as an aside, there were bears in that area in ancient times. The writer probably used bears as a metaphor for how ferociously the guards attacked the kids. Elisha was pretty progressive, keeping a pair of female guards in that time. At least, I choose to interpret it that way because it sounds kind of cool that he had two female guards that had no compunctions about grabbing a sword and opening up a massive cask of whup-ass on a bunch of snotty kids. Extra points if they were dressed in the skimpy "armor" that female characters get to wear in MMORPGs.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

So Ford made cars. Machines that are not designed to kill, but can easily kill. Therefore everyone ever killed by a car has just recourse to Ford?

If I am the armorer of the kingdom, and I send you to battle with a dull blade, when you return from battle severely wounded after not being able to fell your foes, would you blame your own ineptitude at fighting, would you blame the faulty weapon, or would you blame me, the armorer, for not properly tending to your weapon?
