If reason is based in the senses, and faith is, as Paul says, "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen," then the articles of faith are not "present" or "seen," which should mean that you can't question them with reason, since they would be are outside the senses.
Faith is a belief in God. Stupidity is when you believe a snake talked.
