What's the point of this life in Christianity?

RE: What's the point of this life in Christianity?
My dad has not attempted to kill me for disobedience, or tortured me indefinitely. He's already a better parent than Yahweh. Nor has he told me and my sister to kill those who do him or us wrong. He's already a more compassionate and forgiving person than Yahweh. This isn't hard.

Christ likened us 'Christians' to a field of wheat, and everyone else as 'weeds' the field owner's enemy planted. God offers boundless love to His children. How is this any different than what we do? If a neighbors kids harassed and beat your children would you love those kids as your own? Why would God?

I think it's more like having 10 kids. You tell your kids that they must worship you and do everything you say their entire lives.

The ones that do, you love. The ones that don't, you toss gasoline all over them and burn them alive.

Yeah.

Yeah, that sounds more accurate.

Lol, so your analogies trumps those of Christ Himself, in your own mind? So much so that you felt you had the foundation to 'correct' the analogy I quoted from Christ?

Ahh, no.

Unfortunately for your argument, Christ has the final word on Christianity.

That is not to say that your post is not a what you think Christianity is... It's just not a biblical representation of it. I guess on the plus side when arguing with a Christian if you are allowed to pull straw men out at random, and rewrite Christianity however you see fit, it would make your arguments seem more valid.

What makes you think God was ever your "parent?"

That proves heaven isn't this perfect blissful place that you Christians portray it to be.

If it was all that wonderful Satan wouldn't have ever had any animosity towards god.

So?

He's called the Father. I was always told he was a father, and he's supposed to tell me how to live a good life. I guess you think he's supposed to be my master, and I'm his slave.

Oh noes! The Christ!

Yeah, my analogy is more accurate than the mythical literary invention that is the Christ.

I don't really care what that ancient, barbaric collection of scribblings you call the bible says. That entire thing is full of fucked up shit.

ATTENTION. MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE FOR AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM GOD.

This life was a test. Repeat. It was only a test.

Congratulations to those of you who showed some spunk and resolve to understand the puzzle I put before you. It is my pleasure to invite you to continue on with me on this paradicical planet .. probably some of my best work. Those who have been sucking up to the 'Me' of the bible are no longer welcome. It's time to chill with my true people.

That is to say, if you are true believers of the bible please prepare for immediate 'rapture'.

THAT IS ALL.

Well, whatever you want to refer to him as is fine with me. One way or another, I don't think he's worthy of worship if he does actually exist. As far as Satan goes, I'd have to get to know him better to know what he's like, and I'm not taking the bible's word for anything on him anymore than I take its word on the idea that Yahwe/Jesus are good people.

If Satan exists, the one thing we know for sure is that he didn't want to follow Yahweh, which seems like a righteous idea to me. Maybe Pyrrhic at best, but better to be a martyr for good than a slave to a dictator.

God can't exist according to you, but in the same arguement, Satan can and you would like you know him better...

Wow..

I liked Milton's Paradise Lost...what's the value in being good if you can't test it....there is no good without a temptation of evil.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
