Oh so original. Copy cats are boring, dull little things.

The truth is always worth repeating - even to the delusional such as yourself.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

Going by strict observation, it appears that the real purpose and meaning of the christian life is to be a bully and a phony.
They bully politically and socially. The pretend to be good, trustworthy, and above vice, which they are not.

They use deceitful and dishonest tactics in debate and do not admit any fault in their beliefs whatsoever.

The majority of theists on this board, by and large, will not discuss their exact beliefs at all.

They keep them tightly guarded, and you get the occasional platitude, or the quoting of scripture, but what they actually believe remains mysterious, so they're free to pick apart and snipe at the beliefs of others without appearing hypocritical.

Another reason seems to be so they can twist their belief system to respond to different arguments, and hide the acrobatics.

Sounds exactly like you, Brakeman. Are you a christian?

That was the finest tu quoque I've ever seen. "Sure I'm a lying dishonest bully who feigns superiority, but so are you!"

One learns not to expect anything less than this kind of bullshit from someone who flaunts his dishonesty like it's gold and considers faith to be a desired virtue.

Anymore schoolyard retorts, Lek?

I'll admit that even though I try to be honest, I do lie once in awhile. It's an indicator of my imperfection. But you're portraying christians as people who live a life characterized by lying, which is not true. As far as feigning superiority, a christian is one who admits he's a sinner in need of a savior. We're all equal in God's eyes.

I don't think it sounds like me at all.
Can you refer to any posts of mine that are deceitful or dishonest, or are you just whining?

And "fuck no," I am not a dumb-ass christian.

They've spent eons to try to make up a myriad purposes to fill the nihilistic void. The worst thing however is they don't just attempt to fill that void for themselves but for everyone else as well. No matter what you choose to do with your life I can think of nothing worse than living your life for someone else's purpose. Even worse is for people long dead who never cared for you and worse than that is for an imaginary idea.

Not for me however. For me the fact that there is no meaning to life is an empowering idea. It means I can use my life, the most precious thing in the universe, to do whatever I want. Rather than being depressed, I rejoice that I have this opportunity to live my life how I want to not how someone else wants me to and certainly not to satisfy the whims of long dead rabbis and priests who worship something that doesn't exist. My life is for me alone.

The Christian purpose in life will never be fully understood ,until it no longer exists on planet earth.

Remove Christianity from off the earth and you will remove all that is sacred ,ethical , and of reason.
All that is of light and beauty would vanish ;all compassion ,culture and the arts would disappear.
Slowly mankind would revert back to a primitive existence as lived in the primal past and eventually man would return back to his life as bestial vegetation . Soon all life would disappear and the earth would once again mindlessly orbit the sun ,devoid of meaning or purpose.

that's the real meaning of Christianity, whether you understand it or not,it won't change anything.

You must be on drugs, nobody can be that stupid naturally. How dare you say that as an atheist I'm a base primitive, devoid of reason, light, and beauty.

Finland is the most atheistic society that I am aware of. Christians are but a footnote there with well under 10% of the population. Yet it is one of the most beautiful countries with an outstanding standard of living. They have a very high happiness index. They are not slaves, they each determine their own life's purpose without a slave-master to tell them what they are good for.

The fact is, christianity is a false pox on mankind and we will be the better with it's demise.
