That's a good point.
And we don't even have to go as far back as the "big crunch" for that. Just go back a "mere" 80 million years, and you are walking on a totally alien planet. From the plant and animal life, to the atmosphere to the landscape to the continents themselves.

It's also safe to assume that the earth of 80 million years from now will also be totally unrecognizable to those of us today.

Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

The right combination for what? Are you implying that the way it is was how it was meant to be?

I'm guessing his answer is "yes".

Disagree...we wouldn't know what to expect from a god - nor could we expect any of life's constraints would shackle it. Perhaps it creates a universe utterly incapable of supporting life and then plops us here anyway - propped up by magic- of course.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Agreed. The only thing I know about 'gods' is that I don't have the first clue what the hell we are talking about.

Atheist Credo: A universe by chance that also just happened to admit the observer by chance.
