Why are some so stupid to believe there's such a thing as dark matter, it can't be seen, touched, smelled, heard or tasted, yet you insist it's there, matter that does not conform to what matter is, and you call Christians idiotic.

So, dark matter is the new wind?

This argument always used to be used about the wind, until it was thoroughly debunked.

Now, it's dark matter.

When dark matter is proven to exist then it will be something else we can't hear, see, or taste.

It's my hypothesis that people in general prefer answers that provide purpose and are offered with conviction and certainty, even in the face of evidence to the contrary.

We can't directly see the supermassive black hole at the center of the milky way, but we nonetheless know that there must be an enormous unseen mass there because of it's effect on nearby stars.

Inference. Look it up.

The same goes for dark matter. We can't see it, we don't yet know what it is, but unless everything we know about gravity and relativity is wrong, there is *something*, a whole lot of something that we can't see.

You use the same argument against God, it's good to see you being critical of your own statements.

You can't know that, it's physically unobserved.

Lol

Case in point.

Radio waves can't be seen, touched, smelled, heard or tasted.

They must not exist either! It's those goddamn scientists at it again! Trying to make fools of uneducated backwoods children of God!

I've heard them.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

No that's not how observations work in science. You don't have to physically observe something for its effects to be tested and measured, and not all observations have to be made visually; in fact hardly any scientific observation is visual.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

It's still empirically verifiable.

Leave it to GC to completely misunderstand the most basic tenants of science.

Sorry to have to do this to you, but...

Tenets, not tenants. Unless there's rent involved.

You would think that if dark matter exists someone could detect at least a smidgen of it in our solar system. But guess what? There's none to be found! It's as elusive as that God character.
