I don't think of belief and faith as the same thing. Belief means you think something is true. Faith means you believe it is true despite the lack of evidence or even in the face of evidence to the contrary. Knowledge is belief for which you have overwhelming evidence.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

I just hope that Christianity isn't taken over by arrogant atheist.

If Christianity WAS taken over by arrogant atheists, I'd probably join...

But they shit their pants in indignation when they come to an atheist forum and are not allowed to operate free of having their opinions challenged.

They aren't use to it, and probably figure they are here to save a few tormented souls and be on their way once we change the name of the forum to "Born Again" or "Saved from Atheism" or some crap.

I spent an hour or so browsing this “worthy Christian forum” (deliciously paradoxical name) and honestly I was more than a little unsettled by what I saw. Besides seeing multiple threads re-defining rape and murder into acceptable terms, one thread was talking about how much they are looking forward to the end of the world and hope that it occurs soon. This idea of “the next life is the REAL one” is what I think leads to Christians (and other theists) spouting off about being moral and righteous..but then endorsing or committing horrific policies and actions in the interest of gaining points in the afterlife, which is all that matters anyway.
