Sacrificing our Moral Compasses

They come up with a line of B.S. about how their insight is straight from the sky daddy and the local yokels sit on their butts and let them get away with it. So despite all of millions of years humanoids have been trying to become intelligent the average human of today is just as stupid as the first ape who walked upright. It really doesn't matter if it's religious or political, the masses are nothing but sheep and will follow whichever con man shows up to lead them. And once started they will kill whoever gets in their way. It's just the way humans behave. Firstly, it may be that the men who invented religion were good men who had no idea that their idea would be perverted into a tool of control, corruption, and destruction. Secondly, even if religion's creators did know that, the most you could infer is that some men are evil. RE: Sacrificing our Moral Compasses

I can't think of one example where God's morality would be undesirable. Unlawful, sure. Uncomfortable, yes.
Gods morality is impersonal. Bereft of personal bias. (June 19, 2014 at 11:32 am)fr0d0 Wrote: I can't think of one example where God's morality would be undesirable. Unlawful, sure. Give me an example Conversely, if you felt something was moral yet it was against the law, would you do it? And what would be the difference between our two actions? My morals are grounded on my beliefs. My inner sense of morality comes from God, as Christians believe occurs in all humans. Without an external thermometer though, you are liable to act selfishly. Well, thanks for not answering the question. And no, if anyone told me to kill my son, I'd react similarly to Hitchens and say "Fuck you" to whoever told me.

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House “Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom "If my good friend Doctor Gasparri speaks badly of my mother, he can expect to get punched.....You cannot provoke.
