I see, so the genesis narrative is not factually accurate (color me shocked) - it requires interpretation in light of some other set of actual facts - that you possess, and the authors did not...and upon which point god felt no need for correction?

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I'm surprised too. Snowpeas, do you actually have any factual facts? Or is it interpretation all the way down?

nuclear: E=MC^2 energy converted from matter at light squared results in an explosion.
landslides - a popsicle stick slanted at a 45 degree angle in a sandbox would slide sand particle from the top to the bottom. even if 2 popsicle sticks were rigged together with sand sliding down, the cause would still be greater than the effect.
the cause always proceed the effect and is always greater than the effect....greater means in every quantitative measurement.

You have a net force (cause) which is equal to ma, that is mass x acceleration (effect), and these two are equal (Newton's law of motion).

energy is not transferred with 100% efficiency during the cause/effect transaction due to entropy. that's why engine exhaust is hot, heat which is energy on the move hasn't been completely transferred to the effect.

After all these years you certainly would have thought that we'd be just as confident in our knowledge of everything as all those young earth Christians. Can't blame those lucky fundamentalists who know everything just by virtue of their trust in a single book. If only we had the faith necessary to declare victory with so little effort. [/sarcasm]
science and scripture are in agreement. But even without scripture God is revealed to each person via the natural world and his/her consciousness. Everyone has an innate knowledge that their life will exist beyond the grave. Scripture gives more details. for instances, everyone will stand before Christ, the moral ruler of the universe, to give an account of their life.

Would it be fair to reduce this all to a fantasy you have about being the lackey of an important person?

Day 1 (epoch of time) starts with 'let there be light'. until then, the earth atmosphere zone was opaque due to the sun's disk of dust and other materials. after some time, gravity had pulled this material sufficiently together to form the earth which changed the earth's atmosphere zone to translucent allowing the sun light to reach the earth's surface.
Electromagnetic radiation was brought into the cosmos 13 billion years ago.

It's cute when biblical literalists try to talk cosmology. Sad, but cute.
atheist, well let's rephrase that, at least atheist on this board really don't have anything to post that's relevant to their belief, and not even good at critiquing opposing viewpoints. you, especially have really fallen on hard times. here's atheist: "I'm smarter but me can't express how smart I am, but take my word for it, I'm really smart".

Work done = kinetic energy + heat loss.
We still have cause = effect

heat was lost, no longer part of the equation.

Hint: atheism doesn't entail any beliefs, though neither does it rule them out.
