We got water cut off at least twice in the last 4 years so we built a well just in case. Can't they do that
Actually no, it doesn't......do you think that favored manufacturers pay for the cost of their h20? Business would grind to a halt. Let's not be silly. Water only costs money for those who have none (money, that is...though I suppose water as well, on the basis of this ruling).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Water is cheap - hospital care isn't. Water maybe cheap but it is not free. The money to pay for it has to come from somewhere. Where do you propose the money to run the water utility come from if the huge swaths of residence don't pay? Do you want to increase rates on the remaining payers? Further there is evidence that many people who can pay only pay under threat of having their water disconnected. Quote:During June and July, the peak months of the shutoffs, the department collected $1.7 million in money owed. In August, during the moratorium, collections were only $200,000. At the peak, the department disconnected around 900 homes a day, Latimer said. http://news.yahoo.com/u-bankruptcy-judge...iness.html (September 30, 2014 at 9:40 pm)DramaQueen Wrote: We got water cut off at least twice in the last 4 years so we built a well just in case. Perhaps your first thought was to build a well when you arrived and you looked up the law on such an act ? No I looked into it when I purchased property, and then just for grins I looked into the matter regarding other places I've lived. It's not rocket science. Quote:Water is cheap - hospital care isn't. It's cheap the way republicunts do it. They're poor. They can just die. |
