Horrible things in the bible

How many people have you - personally - killed to give them an eternity of happiness?

By your own lights, you should spend all your spare time going about killing infants ('dashing thy little ones against the stones' as it were) in order to speed them to an eternity of happiness. You might also have a go at back-alley abortions (I hear that wire clothes hangers and knitting needles aren't too pricey), or - at the very least - go round shouting at people who protest abortions that they are keeping babies out of heaven.

Why your lot can't grasp the divide between happiness and butchery is beyond me.

Boru

We don't have the right to decide who should die or when they should die. That's God's prerogative. As for the back alley abortions, that's the decision of the person involved. That's akin to saying that we should just let someone kill someone they hate by lethal injection, instead of making them shoot or stab them in a dark alley somewhere.

The receipts of God's wrath did worse things than that. They were in complete rebellion against God. They also killed babies and raped women and men. As for the babies, it's a matter of your perspective. From an eternal perspective, the babies died quickly and are spending an eternity with God in happiness. For you who believe that this is all there is, it seems pretty horrible.

So you claim. The only evidence available suggests that they're merely slaughtered.

SMH

Go ahead and compare christians with everyone else and see who is the most humane.

Maybe as you deserve, you silly twit.

Like I said, he treats us better than we deserve.

I don't know if they did or not, but they've massacred plenty of people in other ways.

There have been atheists who committed horrible crimes. Though not because they read in a book that they'd have eternal paradise if they did it. Or be in eternal torture if they didn't.

I'm not sure why Yahweh would have the right to kill things he created, and not people. Men and women create other Humans all the time. It's not difficult. Free thinking beings should not be treated as property, even though Yahweh approves of it.

Obviously, had Lek lived in Germany in 1940 he would have been a willing stormtrooper. He'll follow any monster who asserts 'authority.'

I'm late in the conversation but one of the things I find evil about god is his lack of incontrovertible communication.

God hides and plays mute, leaving ALL of his communication to come through the mouths of men. Even then the message is always unclear, up for thousands of different interpretations and claims of decodings.

This little shit aspect of god ruins more lives and gets more people killed than any other I can think of.

Sounds like a great argument for going around killing babies - kill them now and let them go to heaven instead of letting them grow up and risk hell.

Sounds about right - what your god should be is a gentle benevolent ruler, what he is is an immoral dickhead.

So, do you go around giving little babies "an eternity of happiness"?

If you could point that out in my life, your argument might carry some weight, otherwise it's just your opinion, and I don't take your opinion seriously.
