I grew up in San Diego.
I'm on the central coast now. Above Santa Barbara, below Monterey.

The 405.....that made me leave. I just could not stand the traffic any more. Otherwise its pretty awesome now that the air is cleaned up a bit.

The 405.....that made me leave. I just could not stand the traffic any more.
I live right off the 5, but I only use it when I have to, and I'm usually good about travelling on the downtimes. I don't drive much. I live in a village where I can walk or ride my bike almost everywhere. I don't know if I'd still live here if I had to deal with traffic.

About 10 years ago, I flew into LA, dropped the wife off with her family and rented a car to play in a poker Tournament at the Sycuan casino in San Diego. It took me 4 hours to go 20 miles in that traffic. I told my wife there was no way in hell I would move back.
I busted out. I had KK and was beat by KJ.
