Divine Intervention...

RE: Divine Intervention...
You know that song jesus take the wheel... and if people actually did that and crashed and survive they will still say it was gods intervention that saved them.
On the other hand would be kind of pissed that there car is wrecked but still will love jesus but not enough to pull that same stunt again.

I love apologetics, but most christians I know don't get involved in that kind of stuff. I've never been satisfied and have always been searching since I was a teenager. I keep thinking that I'll find "the answer" that will make me content and then I'll just relax my mind and take it easy, but it never happens.

I make a distinction between Christian apologetics and Mormon apologetics. The Christian variety has to be like a billion times easier than the Mormon kind.

Millions of people thought the earth was flat. Huge numbers of people can, and do, believe things that are utter nonsense.

I heard that the Catholic church randomly decided that the holy ghost fucked Mary in the ear. The pope pulled an aural rape out of his arse. The whole story is so absurd, it's pretty much impossible to make it any less believable. But he did try.

Is this a joke or are you serious about this?

Yeah, I'm serious. I heard that through reliable sources anyway, aural insemination. Where they got that from is anyone's guess. They just sit around rewriting history apparently.

Hmm, I'm trying to find some sources, this may have gone back some time actually. I don't know if it's being universally accepted, can't find confirmation.

I might have spoken too soon about the pope actually making it up himself. This has been around a lot longer than I thought.

Anyone have better sources?

I found this too

https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=FHVm...ic&f=false

They only mentioned it in passing, seems I got the wrong end of the stick. This appears to be one of several competing "virgin" ideas through history.

Yeah, but the flat earth society is even considered idiotic among the conspiracy nuts. And it's extremely fringe, such as you would expect from the mentally handicapped.
